Guides are short books that give children a brief introduction to a subject. They are folded from one sheet of paper and open up to a full-sized poster suitable for pinning up on a classroom or bedroom wall. Below left is Getting There, the newest guide. It briefly tells the history of trolley transportation in Southern California and then unfolds to reveal a delightful illustrated map of the Gold Line Extension route. The guide shown below right, tells the story of Los Angeles Union Station. It is used by the Los Angeles Conservancy to supplement their Union Station tours for kids.
